Work in Progress: Page 1
Owners: KIm & Steve Chaloupek
Vehicle: 57 Ford Thunderbird
First the chrome, trim, and bumpers are removed from the vehicle. The trim and bumpers are then
sorted, labeled, repaired, repolished, or rechromed as needed.

Both the interior and windows are then carefully removed and evaluated for replacement.
With the delicate stuff removed, the engine comes out next.

Once the engine is removed the body is checked over for previous restoration work. Here you can
see evidence of filler material that measured over 1/4" deep. The body is then media blasted so that all hidden
rust, old putty, and any unseen damage is revealed.

After media blasting the outside, preparation begins to remove the body from the frame. Once separated, the
underside of the car body and the frame are then sand blasted. The hard top gets blasted and re gel-coated

Body panels, patches, and supports are welded into place. Preliminary body work is completed and the first
coat of primer is applied.
